The Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore will hold in January 2012 CUT THRU: A View on 21st Century Thai Art, an exhibition of nine Thai contemporary artists.
The exhibition is guest curated by Loredana Pazzini-Paracciani and includes mixed media installations, paintings, videos and photography works by participating artists: Angkrit Ajchariyasophon, Chulayarnnon Siriphol, Chusak Srikwan, Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit, Piyatat Hemmatat, Preeyachanok Ketsuwan, Ruangsak Anuwatwimon, Tawan Wattuya and Vichaya Mukdamanee.
In a time when the Thai cultural zeitgeist is being redefined by a wave of younger artists, says the institute, CUT THRU offers multiple reflections of contemporary Thailand by spotlighting iconic elements of daily life, vernacular culture and religion.
Includes: Artist Talk by Piyatat Hemmatat and Vichaya Mukdamanee. Wednesday, 11 January 2012, 1pm. ICA Gallery 1, B1-04. The gallery opens daily, 10am – 6pm, except on Mondays and public holidays. Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore. Lasalle College of the Arts. 1 McNally Street, Singapore 187940
