London Design Museum launches debut app

The Design Museum in London is launching its first app called the Crouwelclock, inspired by the graphics of Dutch graphic designer Wim Crouwel, the CrouwelClock is a beautifully animated graphic alarm clock.

Wim Crouwel has recorded three personal messages which play out as alarms, wishing you ‘a nice and well designed day’ and reminding you to ‘keep your grid straight today’, and finally ‘a grid today keeps the doctor away.’

The museum says the "unique app" was commissioned by the Design Museum to celebrate Wim Crouwel: A Graphic Odyssey, Wim Crouwel's first UK retrospective exhibition at the Design Museum, which runs through 3 July 2011.

The app was commissioned by the Design Museum and produced by Spin.co.uk and LargeBlue.com. Each download, available from ITunes/Crouwelclock, costs 59p.
